We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who is passionate about delivering reliable, high-quality software. You will play a critical role in ensuring every feature released on the platform is stable, secure, and performs as expected before reaching customers.
Role Overview
As our Quality Assurance Engineer, you will work closely with developers and the Privacy Product Specialist throughout the development lifecycle. Your focus will be on identifying software defects, validating new functionality, and helping the team maintain a high standard of product quality.
You will develop comprehensive test plans, execute manual and automated tests where appropriate, document defects, and verify fixes before release.
Key Responsibilities
- Test new features against functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Execute end-to-end testing across platform workflows.
- Perform regression testing before each release.
- Validate bug fixes and verify they resolve reported issues.
- Identify defects, inconsistencies, and unexpected system behaviour.
- Develop detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Maintain and improve the platform's test documentation.
- Participate in requirement reviews to identify potential quality risks early.
- Ensure adequate test coverage for new functionality.
- Verify usability, responsiveness, and overall platform behaviour.
- Test cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Validate form submissions, notifications, workflows, and integrations.
- Assess edge cases, error handling, and data validation.
- Support user acceptance testing where required.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the Privacy Product Specialist to distinguish functional software defects from product improvement opportunities.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes.
- Record defects clearly with reproducible steps.
- Track issues through to resolution.
- Prepare release testing reports.
- Maintain regression testing checklists.
- Contribute to QA documentation and testing standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least two years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Experience testing modern web applications.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
- Experience writing test cases and reporting defects.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a remote development team.
- Desirable: experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Desirable: experience testing SaaS platforms.
- Desirable: familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Desirable: knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- Desirable: basic SQL knowledge.
- Desirable: experience using issue tracking systems such as Jira, GitHub Issues, or similar.
- Desirable: experience testing applications involving authentication, workflows, or document management.
- Desirable: familiarity with privacy, compliance, or governance software.
